Farewell

Caleb gave his farewell talk to a splendid crowd in the Plain City 7th Ward on November 13th at 1:00.  I was so emotional as I entered the chapel to see many people we love.

His topic was the Book of Mormon, and of course he tied in mission work. He bore his simple and honest testimony of the gospel. His words stirred the hearts of many. Throughout the day we received many compliments and kind words about his spirit and testimony.

After his talk, Caleb bore testimony through his music. He played "If I Could High to Kolob" on his guitar. The room was so quiet listening to his beautifully arranged piece. I think that one of the hardest things for Caleb to give up will be his music and many instruments. We sang "God be With You till We Meet Again" as the closing hymn. What a heart wrenching song for mom.

After the meeting, we gathered in our home to laugh, eat, and bid farewell to the missionary. We had loads of food from so many kind contributors, but we sure went through it quick. We estimated near a hundred people graced our home throughout the day. It was perfect and we sure felt the love.

Grandma Beryl brought Megan and Elder Caleb teddy bear to remind her of her brother while he is gone. It was such a sweet gift and I love that she thought of Megan at this special time. My heart is tender for Megan as her only sibling will be absent for a time.
